  • 2 oz gin

  • 1 oz freshly squeezed lemon juice

  • 3/4 oz simple syrup Made with Batey Turbinado Sugar

  • 8 to 10 fresh basil leaves

  • Tonic Water

  • Ice


  1. Place the fresh basil leaves in a cocktail shaker.

  2. Add the gin, freshly squeezed lemon juice, and simple syrup to the shaker.

  3. Muddle the ingredients using a muddler This helps release the basil's essential oils and flavor.

  4. Add some ice cubes. Make sure it's about halfway full of ice.

  5. Shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds.

  6. Strain the mixture into cocktail glass.

  7. Top with Tonic Water and stir.

  8. Garnish your Basil Smash with a sprig of fresh basil.

  9. Enjoy!
